Pre- and After-Care
Pre-Care
Drink Water - fully hydrated follicles will ensure a more effective treatment.
Trim Hair - allow enough growth to be able to grab the hair with a pair of fine tweezers
Avoid Sun Exposure - limit sun exposure 48 hours prior to treatment
Avoid Stimulants - coffee and tea can make you more sensitive and cause pain during treatment
Avoid Menstrual Cycle - if you menstruate, appointments during this time can increase pain as well
6. Avoid Retinoids - do not use Retin-A, Retinols, Retinoids, or other intense treatments for 1 week prior to appointment. Discontinue Accutane at least 6 months prior to treatment.
7. Avoid Acids - do not use topical BHA or AHAs for 1 week prior to appointment. These topicals along with retinoids can result in pigment changes and scarring with electrolysis.
8. Stop Other Methods - stop tweezing, waxing, threading, sugaring, and any other plucking methods once treatment has begun. These permanently distort the hair follicle and delay treatment effectiveness.

After-Care

DO - apply antibiotic cream (Bacitracin, Neosporin) for 48 hours after treatment
DO - apply ice for an hour after treatment if experiencing inflammation or redness

DO - contact your electrologist or our office if you are experiencing any adverse reaction or concerns
6. DON’T - use alcohol-based products or skincare products containing alcohols. Check labels or use provided products.

9. DON’T - sunbathe, hot tub, or expose treated areas to extreme heat for 48 hours.
